How
to make Orgone
There
are many ways to make Orgone and the easiest way is to keep it
simple. Once you have done simple then you may want to start experimenting
with it. Before starting make sure that you wear old clothing,
have protective rubber gloves and a vapour mask. A vapour mask
is important as the fumes from the resin should not be inhaled.
Another word of warning - keep the catalyst/ hardener away from
your eyes as it can blind you. Don't be fooled into thinking you
won't make a mess everywhere - you definitely will so cover all
surfaces with newspaper. You will need a flat level surface unless
you don't mind slightly wonky results.
Far
and away the easiest molds are those silicone baking molds. They
come in many shapes and forms. Most people start with muffin pans
either large or small. You can use tins but they need oil and
will wear out and start sticking. The tins eventually bend into
works of art if they are banged around enough to release the Orgone.
Glass molds are good too as they give a shiny finish but often
need to be broken to get the orgone out.
You
will also need a plastic jug with measures marked up the side
so you know how much resin you have used to then judge the amount
of hardener/catalyst you need. This varies with each manufacturer
so just follow their instructions. The resin is polyester resin.
You will need a wooden spoon to stir the mix. Make sure it is
a long handled one or you may find that once you have stirred
the mix you can't touch anything else because your hands are sticky.
Unless
you are a good judge of amounts it is always a good idea to have
another mold or two on hand to pour the excess resin into. The
resin and catalyst need careful mixing together otherwise you
will get some that sets and some that doesn't all in the same
pan. Setting times vary so prepare the pans before mixing the
resin with the hardener.
You
will need metal and some quartz crystals. The metal is called
swarf. It can be obtained from engineering businesses, boiler
makers, key turners etc. You may have to resort to pushing aluminium
foil through a shredder, or cutting up foil trays. Copper and
aluminium are widely used in orgone. It is generally used at 50%
swarf to 50% resin. You will also need copper wire to make a spiral
as this helps the flow of energy through the orgone.
The
idea is to place the copper spiral in the pans, fill the pans
with metal swarf, place a crystal in it somewhere and then cover
it with your prepared resin and hardener mix. You will need to
poke the resin with a thin stick to release the bubbles and to
poke pieces of metal under.
You
then leave it to set. It will get very hot and then it will cool
down. Get out of your well ventilated room while it does. Now
there are some people who can't wait and tip out the little orgone
cakes while they are still hot. This works too, but its best to
wait to avoid further fumes.
Tips
Sand
is great to put on spills, balance tricky molds and scrub sticky
fingers.
Get
out of those clothes asap as they carry fumes.
Don't
go out with those marks left by the mask..you will be asked
questions :-)
