The LifeStraw®
The lifestraw® has won awards for its design. It was invented to help people who do not have access to clean water. The Lifestraw® is a portable water purifier. Not only for developing countries this straw is great for travellers and anyone anywhere who has problems getting access to clean water.
What The Lifestraw can do
The Lifestraw® can purify a minimum of 700 litres of water.
It kills and removes 99.99% of waterborne bacteria and 98.7% of waterborne viruses.
It removes particles down to 15 microns and requires no electrical power or spare parts.
The simplicity of the design makes it easily accessible and usable wherever there is contaminated water.
It does not remove heavy metals and fluoride.
The Lifestraw® is manufactured by Vesterguard Fransen who work hard to distribute it in developing countries mostly through donations and charities.
How The lifestraw works
LifeStraw® personal contains a specially developed halogenated resin that kills bacteria and viruses on contact; a special chamber further increases the exposure of micro-organisms to the halogenated resin, thereby enhancing the killing effect. Micro-filters are used to remove all particles down to 15 microns. Activated carbon adsorbs anything residual thereby improving the taste of water.
How to use The LifeStraw®
Remove the top and the bottom cap. Place in the water and suck. After use blow through it to clear out any debris. Wipe and store.
